Susana will discuss the definition and basic elements of trade financing, the traditional methods of product importing and exporting, and recent trends in strategies among corporations in the way they procure or sell product internationally. These trends include the increased interest among supply chain partners in capturing visibility and real time decision-making through the use of innovations in technology.

Susana is an international business executive with more than 20 years' experience as a leader in the field of international trade. She was most recently at Nike, Inc., where she led the creation of a new Nike offshore trading company and established an in-house Trade Finance function based on a cutting edge, fully automated, multi-provider trade platform. Prior to joining Nike, she was Trade Finance Manager at the Gap, Inc.'s Corporate Treasury in San Francisco. Susana has extensive experience in the international trade banking arena, including stints at Bank of America, San Francisco and New York; Credit Lyonnais, New York; and Credit Commercial de France (CCF), New York. Susana is actively involved in the World Affairs Council of Oregon, and served on its Board of Trustees and Advisors. She and her husband, Carl, enjoy birding and the bounty of the local harvests of the Pacific Northwest
